Iranian Documents for Spain: Translation and Legalisation in 2026

The sequence published by the Embassy

• Finalise the document list and reconcile names and dates
• Obtain the Spanish translation through a sworn translator accepted under the Embassy's current instructions
• Complete the required Iranian Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Foreign Affairs steps
• Request a legalisation appointment from the applicant's own personal email address
• Bring evidence of the reason for legalisation and the completed Embassy form

Appointment and representation rules

The notice states that the applicant must request the appointment personally from a personal email address and identify themselves clearly. Documents may then be presented by the applicant or by an authorised representative whose power of attorney is translated into Spanish and legalised by Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Limits and fees stated on 6 July 2026

• A maximum of five documents per person per appointment
• A stated fee of EUR 5 for each legalisation, payable in cash and in euros
• Applicants with a BLS appointment for a national-visa application may, under the notice, attend the Embassy during the stated hour on the immediately following day without a separate legalisation appointment

Legalisation is not acceptance of the application

Legalisation authenticates signatures, capacity and seals; it does not validate the contents of a document or guarantee that the receiving immigration authority will consider the file sufficient. Translation, legalisation and the visa or residence application are distinct steps.

Controls before paying for translations

• Confirm the document is still valid for the intended filing date
• Use one spelling of every personal and company name
• Check whether the receiving authority requires an original or certified copy
• Keep a scan of the full legalisation chain
• Reopen the Embassy notice immediately before travel or submission
